Sola Scriptura

It  is our fervent hope that you will find blessing and hope through the Scriptures as you use this site. We have consciously aimed at displaying the over-arching themes of the Bible by comparing Scripture with Scripture, and illuminating the continuity between the Old and New Testaments. The glory of Scripture is best displayed by remembering the words often attributed to Augustine, "The New Testament is in the Old concealed; the Old Testament is in the New revealed." If preachers and teachers gain any insights they are welcome to them, and I hope we will all learn to understand better the context of chosen passages and their Biblical-theological significance in God’s historical revelation to us. This material is aimed primarily at the pew and the people to whom I have had the privilege of ministering for five decades, but if any of it assists preachers, it will be gratifying.

The study of God’s inspired and infallible Word can move the student with tears and laughs, and with shouts of joy and songs of praise. I hope it does this for you.
